Life is one big cycle of change. What a lot of people do not consider, is that our homes are also living their unique cycles right with us. The Environmental Alchemist was created with the idea of sharing my knowledge on how our environments can impact our lives. What started as a journey to create a Feng Shui resource for my clients, became a deeply personal journey of exploring the significance relationship between my family history, the family homestead and me. I then had to know more.
Part of this journey was when I met my second Feng Shui Master and teacher, Perrie. In her teachings she shared a lifetime of wisdom on traditional Feng Shui methods. My favorite learning was that a house has an individual birth chart that can have a strong influence on the residents. As I delved deeper into the wisdom of this beautiful practice, the accuracy of how the house birth chart reflects the occupants unfolding of events has been mind-blowing.
My Muse
The beautiful homestead, “Eversleigh” that my great grandparents built in the early 1900’s was a home that I was always inspired by. It was situated 250 meters from the home I grew up in. It had verandas that wrapped around 3 sides of the house, 4 large bedrooms, a detached kitchen and beautiful coloured glass windows that slid into the wall cavities! There was also a second house that adjoined the homestead that was linked by a large breezeway. I always dreamed of doing it up and making it beautiful again, as most of my life it was sitting empty, deteriorating.
It was originally the home to a joyous family of nine, also playing host at times to the schoolteacher and workmen. Beautiful antique furniture and musical instruments filled the home. It had been utilised as farming land for dairy cattle, beef, sheep, pigs and many crops. I also noticed a pet cockatoo in some of the glass negatives that I had developed. Over the years many changes occurred, the children grew up and went off to start their own families. The last original member of the family to reside in the home was my great aunt Adler who stayed on, instead of pursuing a career as a nurse, to look after her parents as they aged. She left in 1954, not long after her dad, my great grandfather, passed. After that she would return each holiday and uncover all the furniture, polish the cutlery and spring clean the house. In addition, we had a great-cousin Keith who lived in one of the rooms during this time, occupying the detached kitchen until he went into care at an old age. Once Aunt Adler passed, Keith's lonely existence was the last presence in the home.
In 2016, I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase “Eversleigh”, moving in fulltime in 2018. This was the start of my spiritual journey. Alongside learning an advanced method of Feng Shui, I began to plot the energy chart of the home using the flying star formation. I was fascinated to find that from 1984 to 2024, the house had the 2 period stars representing health and wealth at the center of the home. These are referred to as a “lock”, resulting in the period stars being unable to be activated, creating a period of challenges for the family.
Timeline
· 1904-1924 Period 3 - “Eversleigh” was built.
· 1924-1944 Period 4 - The original family enjoyed a full life.
· 1944-1964 Period 5 - Older family left, and others then passed.
· 1964-1984 Period 6 - Keith living by himself, “Eversleigh” was deteriorating around him
· 1984-2004 Period 7 - The Wealth Lock. Significantly, I was born the year we entered a new cycle. My mum's dad passed suddenly and tragically in 1987. Keith passed in this period.
· 2004-2024 Period 8 - The Health Lock. My dad passed suddenly and tragically 3 years prior, and then our family all moved away from the property, leaving both houses empty. My nephew passed suddenly and tragically in 2021.
· 2024 - Current Period 9 - “Eversleigh” is now free from the 40-year lock cycle. This is all happening in the same year I am turning 40 and the same month I release The Environmental Alchemist!
The list of meaningful coincidences that have occurred regarding this homes connection to my journey are uncanny. Me being born on the year a period shifts into a lock. The sitting position of the home corresponding to the animal representing the year of my birth. After six years working on my Feng Shui guide, it is released the very month following the 40-year lock ending. Talk about divine timing and perfect alignment!
The beautiful thing about Feng Shui is that it goes hand in hand with other tools to deepen self-awareness. The powerful shifts I experienced after learning about my personal birth chart was then complemented by aligning with my house birth chart.
What’s next for The Environmental Alchemist
My intention is to work with people on the land that have experienced generations of tragic events and hardships. I will alchemies the energy of the family homestead that is at the heart of their property, healing the family lineage for past, present and future generations to come.
